2025 in review

2025 was busy for OAC: 52 appeals lodged, 59 closed (35 carried over). 45% were allowed in part, mainly for works approvals or licences (40%) or native vegetation clearing permits (37%).

What we do

Our role is to investigate appeals efficiently and effectively. This includes actively seeking opportunities to resolve issues in dispute through agreement. If the matters in dispute cannot be resolved by consent, we report to the Minister for the Environment, whose decision is final and without appeal.
