Purpose of collection
Photographs, video footage, audio recordings and quotes of you (Material) may be used by the Department in publications, posters, newsletters, advertising, websites and social media internal and external to the Department for promotional, communication, and educational purposes.
Your name and contact details are collected so we can communicate with you as well as for record keeping and administrative purposes.
Who personal information may be shared with
The Material may be used in internal and public-facing communications as set out above.
The Material may also be shared with external suppliers engaged by us such as photographers, videographers, designers, printers, and digital service providers, for the above purposes.
We will seek your consent to use your personal information for any purpose that is not outlined in this notice.
What happens if personal information is not provided?
If we do not collect your personal information we will not be able to communicate with you regarding the collection and use of the Material. As a result, you may not be able to participate in the activity or event where the Material is being collected.
Access to and correction of your personal information
Our Privacy Policy contains information about how you may access and seek correction of personal information about you that is held by us.
In some cases, requests for access or correction will be handled in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 1992.
You may withdraw your consent to us using the Material at any time by contacting communicate@dplh.wa.gov.au and providing your name and the registered event you attended. We may also accept a request from someone acting on your behalf.
If you withdraw your consent, the Department will undertake reasonable steps to stop future use of the Material. Material that has already been published, distributed or placed into circulation may not be able to be withdrawn.
