As part of Albany Pride 2026, the Equal Opportunity Commission will be in town and hosting a free community session during Pride Week.
This session will explain your rights around discrimination and harassment, and how to use them in everyday life. It is designed for everyone, whether you are seeking information for yourself, your community, someone you support, or your workplace.
You will learn:
- what your rights are
- when the law applies
- what protections exist
- where to go for help and support
If you have ever wondered how discrimination and harassment laws work in real‑life situations, this session aims to make things clearer.

A quick heads‑up: This session is open to everyone, of all ages, abilities, genders and sexual orientations. We will be talking about discrimination and harassment, which can be sensitive for some people, especially younger attendees (such as those below high school age). We will do our best to create a respectful and inclusive space, and you are always welcome to step out if you need to.
